Djerba, as described in Homer’s Odyssey, is the land of the Lotus eaters. It is a small island so seductive that Gustave Flaubert described: “This island is covered with gold dust, greenery and birds, where lemon trees are high as cedars and where the air is so sweet that it prevents them from dying.
Djerba is an island in southern Tunisia, with white sandy beaches and whitewashed domes. The people of Djerba are culturally differentiated from Tunisians and still maintain many of their traditions and unique architecture.
